How to prepare matcha?

Making matcha is more than preparing a drink, it’s a small ritual of presence.

Whether you enjoy it traditionally with water or as a creamy latte, these simple steps will help you get the best flavor, texture, and calm from every cup.

1. Traditional Matcha

Step 1: Sift ½ teaspoon matcha into a bowl and add 30–60 mL warm water (60–80°C)
Step 2: Whisk for 15–30 seconds in a zig-zag (‘W’) motion (with hand holding the whisk)
Step 3: Add another 120–180 mL warm water and enjoy

 


2. Matcha Latte

Step 1: Sift ½ teaspoon matcha into a bowl and add 30–60 mL warm water (60–80°C)
Step 2: Whisk for 15–30 seconds in a zig-zag (‘W’) motion (with hand holding the whisk)
Step 3: Pour over 120–180 mL milk of your choice and enjoy hot or iced
